Apple "We found that the usefulness of your app is limited by the minimal amount of content or features it includes." really?
So the National Parks Tracker app was rejected by apple. Their reason,"We found that the usefulness of your app is limited by the minimal amount of content or features it includes. " really. There is no app on the app store currently that allows you to simply track what National Parks you have visited. There are a lot that list the National Parks but none that provide a simple list of them and allow you to track visits. My app does both provides the user the list of national parks and allows them to keep track of the ones they have visited. Yes it is simple and currently has limited functionally but that is the point. This App adheres to the KIS design. Keep it simple. This app has no ads, I am not trying to scam people with click bait like many apps do. In agile terms this is a minimum viable product that I plan to continue to enhance. But this version defiantly provides value to users. But now I know why I could not find an app, apparently its to simple for apple's fancy pants users. Which I am one of by the way. Initially I only intend to create an iOS app now I am glad I decided to create an Android version at the same time. I even managed to talk to an Apple app store representative, they would not budge. They even went as far as suggesting I incorporate social features into the app such as chat. Really how does chat help me track the National Parks I have visited. I have never had much sympathy for app developers that complained of getting rejected but now... I totally get it. Especially when it is rejected for vague reason as does not provide enough functionality. Why does apple get to decide what is enough functionality? The consumer should decide that. I can go on but its all been said before. I think what annoys me the most is I paid $100 just for the privilege of having an app rejected from the app store.
